About the client:
Pupil Asset provides a cloud-based Management Information System (MIS) for Schools, Teachers and Parents, that allows key stakeholders to access, securely store and share vital information about the pupils in their care. The company was formed in 2008.
About the role:
As a young company, the client needed help in a number of office-related tasks including customer-facing interaction. Initially, this involved answering phones and fielding email enquiries, but quickly escalated to providing first-line customer support requiring a working knowledge of the client’s MIS. With time, the role evolved to supporting the management team, as well as representing the client at trade fairs. The role also included organising and promoting training events for the MIS.
As a back-office resource, the tasks included basic bookkeeping such as raising invoices, chasing outstanding debt and general financial reporting to the Directors.
Client benefits:
In the first years following formation, the client needed to be able to balance fixed costs against revenue. With a growing customer base, it was clear that the client needed additional help in a number of areas but was not yet in a position to employ anyone on a permanent basis. I was able to a meet the client’s requirements, by working on a flexible contract and offering a wide range of skills. The client made use of my services over a period of three years, in a number of different roles. As the company grew the roles covered became more time-demanding and warranted the recruitment of full-time and permanent resources. During this period of growth, I was able to meet all of the client’s requests for administrative services in a wide range of tasks.
